Atomic Chat is a privacy-first AI app that runs completely on your own device. It doesn’t send data to the cloud and can work 100% offline, so conversations and processing stay local.

It supports a large catalogue of models — over 1,000 — including names like Llama, Qwen, DeepSeek and Gemma, and accepts formats such as GGUF, MLX and ONNX. Models can be downloaded and run locally, letting you pick the one that suits the task.

Performance-wise, the app uses a technology called TurboQuant to reduce memory needs and speed up model execution, with claims of up to eight times faster operation. The desktop installation is straightforward and the interface separates chats and projects, with persistent memory across sessions.
