FilmCraft

FilmCraft is a freemium, browser-based workspace that combines a free online timeline editor with standalone AI image and video tools. You can load footage, stills and audio and edit or preview in the browser without creating an account; signing in is required only to save or export projects. Saves and exports are free and do not consume AI generation credits.

The editor runs an open-source FilmCraft engine in the browser and supports deliberate cuts, colour correction, motion and opacity controls, audio mixing, titles and basic graphics. Media stays organised so you can preview picture and sound together and check the downloaded file before sharing. Performance depends on your device, the footage and browser graphics support, and some desktop-only features aren’t available in the web build.

AI generation is handled as a separate step: pick a supported model, confirm the credit quote, generate content, then import the resulting file into the timeline alongside other clips. Paid plans and credit packs apply only to AI generation; the timeline editing functions remain free.

Project files and exported media are saved to your account and are subject to stated size limits. FilmCraft is aimed at creators, marketers, small businesses and storytellers making product demos, short documentaries, lessons, social clips, teasers and other short-form video work.
