Markitdown Online

Markitdown Online is a browser-based converter that grew out of Microsoft’s open-source MarkItDown project. It takes a wide range of file types and images and converts them into clean, structured Markdown you can edit or feed into AI systems.

Supported inputs include PDFs, DOCX, PPTX, XLS/XLSX, HTML/HTM, TXT/MD, CSV/TSV, JSON/XML, EPUB, IPYNB, public URLs, pasted tables and PNG/JPG/WebP images via OCR. The output is formatted for use in AI prompts, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, knowledge bases, documentation, search indexing and Git-style editing.

No account or installation is required to start. The free tier allows up to 3 files per batch and files up to 20MB. The Pro plan increases file size limits, supports batches of up to 30 files, keeps more saved results and raises the OCR allowances.
