Pixal3D
Open SourcePixal3D converts 2D images into detailed 3D models with PBR textures, handy for creators needing accurate, reconstruction-level assets.
Overview
Pixal3D converts ordinary 2D images into fully textured 3D assets by projecting pixel information into a 3D volume, rather than guessing spatial details from a canonical space. It’s intended to produce geometry and PBR materials that closely match the input view.
The project was developed by researchers at Tsinghua University and TencentARC and was accepted to SIGGRAPH 2026. It supports single-view or multi-view input and outputs GLB meshes with PBR textures.
Pixal3D is available as open-source code under the MIT licence. More information is on the project site: https://pixal-3d.com/
- Outputs GLB meshes with PBR textures (base colour, normal, roughness)
