Go Document Merge automates turning rows in Google Sheets into individual Google Docs using template variables like {{Column Name}}. You point it at a Docs template, select an output Drive path (that can include variables), and it generates the documents from the sheet data.

The add-on keeps track of progress in the sheet and will pause when Google quotas are reached, resuming automatically on an hourly basis until the merge completes. The website notes typical daily quotas around 2000 documents for regular Gmail and about 4000 for Google Workspace accounts.

It’s offered as a free tool and is aimed at teams that need to produce large numbers of personalised contracts, letters, certificates, invoices and similar Docs without leaving Google Workspace.

  • Continuous merge with hourly resume after quota limits are hit
  • Merge status displayed in the source Google Sheet
  • Dynamic Drive output paths and file names using sheet variables
